Happy Holidays and Good Riddance to 2020!
December has been stressful for everyone, but despite it all there’s still a certain cheer in the air, a sense of comradery and support after making it this far into the year together. We’re all pushing forward in the hopes of better things ahead.
Great hardship brings about greater art. The Blues from the suffering of slaves, shining stars from the minds of mad painters. The last year, in my opinion, is worth at least a masterpiece or two.
Whether I’d consider my work to be that of artistic genius or not, the events of the past year have given me time and space to reflect upon myself. Cameras are mirrors reflecting mirrors, when you look at life through a viewfinder for long enough, you’re going to eventually see yourself.
This year has changed the lives of everyone in different ways and there is no knowing yet what awaits us in the year to come, but the best we can do is to move forward with all the positivity and good will we can muster for the benefit of us all.
To me personally it has been a difficult year, nevertheless an incredibly successful one as well; I achieved my BA degree, worked on multiple artistic projects, maintained a steadyn job and started my MA degree. This year may have been filled with roadblocks, but it has been a fruitful journey yet and even though I may not have been able to do everything I had planned, I know I have done enough.
This may be my last post for the year since I will be taking all the time off I can to reset myself for the new year to come and enjoy the time that is left in 2020 in a rather unusual and unexpected Christmas to come.
I wish all of you the best in these interesting times and hope you may have a joyous socially distanced gathering with loved ones near and far. I know we’ll all meet again soon.
I end this with a goodbye and a good riddance to 2020, lets hope 2021 has better things in store.
Stay safe, stay healthy and keep carrying on.
